I just stole this from another blog

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no hope of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." -John Stuart Mill

It is a reply from another reader about the blog I was reading.  Mausersandmuffins Brigid is a beautiful writer and always has something for me to absorb. Kudos to her, and good on her.

Remember, Freedom is NOT free.

All the best to you and yours.

Dead Perp Society

We had the opportunity to play with the training guns at GCPD training facility in the firing range. I've never shot a blue Glock before, but it was visually identical to my old model 17. It fired little blue training rounds in 9mm. So from 7 yards we got to shoot the targets. There were 17 of us in class today and everyone got to shoot. Check the video in my previous post for live ammo training.
What a treat!!! God bless and keep safe our heroes in blue!
Click the pic for a full screen view. I had 10 shots, 10 kills. One was a deliberate head shot. If you only knew how giddy I get...

This is the bomb! GCPD Rules!

Interesting...

How many gallons of gas are sold in NC every day? Hold on................
A 2007 report shows 107,871 thousand barrels. 42 gallons per barrel. 107,871,000x42=4,530,582,000 gallons. Right? Wow. That's a lot of change!

One more for the record!

OK, maybe I am bragging. But, then again, It aint braggin if you can back it up! This one hogged up a spinner bait about 3 feet from the shore. A huge thanks to Big Daddy Mac for snapping the pic! I hope to be at the Hooch this weekend. I found a spot I can take the Stalker boat. Sweeeeet!

Ciao for now.

SC Fishing

We were in Dark Corner fishing some private ponds and scared up a mess of fish.

At times, it was tough not to catch em!

The crappies were gigantic.

Some I caught with my Heddon Zara walkin the dog. What a treat! The bass were killin it.

I had one break a double blade spinner bait. It was amazing how that fish just crushed that spinner.

I also used an old buzz bait. Wow! It got hammered by the fish. Imagine reeling fast and all of a sudden - BAM! Fish on! Totally awesome

I lost over $25 worth of lures including a brand new Rapala.

A huge "Thank you" to the Mac's for their hospitality! We really had a great time.

BlackShoals

Largemouth, but small.

What a great day out at Black Shoals

The plastics were money all day! The cotton candy worm was a hit. I must have used 5 or six, but that was all that was left in the bag. It was windy on the eastern side of the lake with the wind blowing right down the gut at 10 to 15 mph. It was tough keeping the boat off the shoreline.

I hit my first one as soon as I got across the lake from the dock/boat ramp. He slurped it up gently and I didn't know he had it for a couple seconds. I used a bright green lizard, 4in., on a Texas rig. Funny how a Texas always catches fish for me.

After I went over to the west side which was very calm, I was sight fishing. I could sneak up to the bank and actually see the fish. Here's a hint: if you can see them clearly, they can see you...don't bother trying to catch them. But, if you go out as far as you can and still cast to within a couple inches of the bank, dog will hunt! The biggest one I caught today was hovering under the overhang of a tree about 25ft away from me. The key is to cast it long enough and easy enough, with minimal splash, to make the lure look natural. Like it fell out of a tree, or fell in the lake.

There weren't but half a dozen boats out, and I only saw 3 of them. There were three trailers in the parking lot when I left and one more was headed to the ramp to take out.

By far, the best day I've had out there all year. I think I landed 6 total fish.

Another lunker

I bet he's 3lbs, easy

Look @ the size of this one!!!

Lunker, Baby!

OMG 5lbs?

He hogged up a cotton candy!
